Competition Philosophy
We truly believe in excellence in the arts. At Theatre Dance Centre we continually strive to challenge, excite, and motivate dancers of all ages, levels, and abilities. With competition, we feel this gives the student a wonderful opportunity to improve on dance technique, make lasting dance friendships, and experience something that professional dancers feel: accomplishment, teamwork, and discipline. We want our students to support, assist, and encourage each other during the time of competition. With this kind of outlook, a competition is a fun and rewarding experience. We do look forward to the challenge, yet we strive for the personal growth of each dancer. This is the best reward that Theatre Dance Centre can receive from our dancers. Dancers are not made of their technique, but their passion. At Theatre Dance Centre, passion and technique is valued to produce the true dancer. Therefore, we dance.

General team requirements:
• Must be enrolled in a ballet class and the technique class in which discipline they perform.
• Three regional competitions and two conventions.
• Any special events associated with the performance team.
General Team Costs: rehearsal time, costumes, entry fees, travel and technique classes.
